A heavily-armed crew of four men fumbled their way through a robbery on May 12 that occurred in broad daylight outside a Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, liquor store. The stunned victim left the scene before authorities arrived. Broward Sheriff’s Office robbery detectives released surveillance video of the attack and are asking the public to help identify all those involved.

At approximately 7:15 p.m. on May 12, the security cameras outside J & L Liquors at 3875 N.W. 19th Street captured the dangerous scene.  A newer-model, white, four-door Volvo parked and waited for a customer to exit the store. Once he did, three men jumped out of the Volvo armed with handguns and long rifles.

The trio rushed toward the victim and surrounded him, pinning him to the ground while they searched him for valuables.

A fourth armed robber casually emerged from the Volvo. He made his way to the victim’s car, a light-colored or silver four-door sedan. He opened the driver’s side door and appeared to take something from within.

The three men flubbed their way through the haphazard robbery. The video shows them dropping their personal items multiple times. At one point, they struggle to retrieve a rifle which they had placed on the ground near the victim.

As the three robbers walked back to their Volvo the fourth man casually walked up to the victim and told him to empty his pockets. The robber stole the victim’s cash and confidently walked back to his car.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO Robbery Detective Armando Enrique at 954-321-4233.
