Children run from home as North Carolina mom is stabbed to death by her husband
A North Carolina mom was stabbed to death by her husband, and in full view of at least one of her three young children.
Today, Nash County Sheriff’s Office headquartered in Nashville, North Carolina, announced that on September 6 around 10:15 a.m., patrol units were dispatched to 4678 Pine Street in the Battleboro neighborhood of Rocky Mount regarding a 911 call about an unconscious subject.
While on their way to that address, deputies were advised that the children of the residence had ran from the house to a neighbor’s home – after their father stabbed their mother.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies arrested the stabbing suspect and took him into custody without incident. The Sheriff’s Office reported that the suspect’s wife had been stabbed multiple times and did not survive her injuries.
The murder suspect, identified as 33-year-old Alexander Dayton Dzikowski, was transported to UNC-Nash Hospital due to injuries sustained prior to law enforcement’s arrival, and has since been transferred to another undisclosed medical facility. The victim was identified as 34-year-old Tiara Dzikowksi, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
“We know at least one of the kids witnessed part of it and that’s when they ran next door to a neighbor’s house,” Maj. Eddie Moore of the Nash County Sheriff’s Office told The New York Post early today.
ABC News reported that Tiara Dzikowksi was the mother of three children. Her two children that fled the scene and ran to a neighbor’s house when the violence began are reported to be between the ages of five and 12.
Dzikowski is currently in law enforcement custody at the medical facility and will be charged with First Degree Murder upon his release. A motive for the stabbing has not been determined.
