Christine Sanchez: Las Vegas woman charged in triple shooting murder of her roomates
Christine Sanchez, 47, of Las Vegas, was charged on December 23 with the triple shooting murder of her three roommates – two men and one woman. Las Vegas police reported that an argument broke out at the home Sanchez shared with those roomies on Friday afternoon. The argument escalated, got heated, and “Sanchez pulled out a handgun and shot the trio multiple times,” according to ABC News. The shooting took place Friday at a residence police described as being a problem house and a dilapidated residence.
Sanchez has been charged with three counts of open murder with a deadly weapon. As of this writing, the identities of her victims have not yet been released. First responders were called to the scene in the 4300 block of Del Santos Drive to investigate reports of multiple people shot, according to KCRA-3. Officers found two males in one bedroom and one female in a separate bedroom. All three were pronounced dead at the scene. Sanchez reportedly fired her weapon about eight times.
Police Lt. Dan McGrath told the Las Vegas Sun that seven to eight people may have been inside the house, which he described as a “crash house” where people came and went.
McGrath added that police were called to that same home at least a dozen time during this past year for reports of property crimes and general disturbances. Sanchez had fled the scene before police arrived; but the cops caught up with her a short time later about 12 miles away from the location of the shootings. Sanchez is currently being held at the Clark County Detention Center.
This isn’t Sanchez’s first run-in with Las Vegas police; nor is it the first time she’s been charged with using a weapon. KCRA-3 reported that “earlier this year [Sanchez] had a 2014 North Las Vegas murder case against her dismissed, District Court District Court records show. Police had alleged she’d shot and killed a 52-year-old woman she’d been acquainted with.”
