Citing ‘illegal leaks’, Donald Trump expects to be arrested on Tuesday
Earlier today, Donald Trump took to his personal social media platform, Truth Social, to tell his followers that he’s convinced he’ll be arrested on Tuesday, March 21. Trump said he learned of his impending arrest due to leaks that came out of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office. The ex-President has been under investigation in Manhattan for hush money payments he made to Stormy Daniels back in 2016, “to prevent her from disclosing her 2006 sexual liaison with Trump,” according to Fox News.
In his Truth Social posting, Trump appears to be inciting his followers to protest what he said is a politically driven indictment over those alleged hush money payments he made to Daniels. Writing in all caps, which is his way, The Washington Times credited Trump with saying:
“NOW ILLEGAL LEAKS FROM A CORRUPT & HIGHLY POLITICAL MANHATTAN DISTRICT ATTORNEYS OFFICE, WHICH HAS ALLOWED NEW RECORDS TO BE SET IN VIOLENT CRIME & WHOSE LEADER IS FUNDED BY GEORGE SOROS, INDICATE THAT, WITH NO CRIME BEING ABLE TO BE PROVEN, & BASED ON AN OLD & FULLY DEBUNKED (BY NUMEROUS OTHER PROSECUTORS!) FAIRYTALE, THE FAR & AWAY LEADING REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE & FORMER PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, WILL BE ARRESTED ON TUESDAY OF NEXT WEEK.”
“PROTEST, TAKE OUR NATION BACK!,” Trump wrote.
During Trump’s 2016 run for president, Michael Cohen, who was Trump’s lawyer back in those days, sent the adult entertainer $130,000 to keep her from disclosing the affair she had with Trump back in 2006. Cohen has previously testified and provided proof that Trump repaid him through several installments.
Politico reported today that Trump has, “repeatedly denied wrongdoing in connection with the payment and has denied Daniels’ claim that the pair had sex on one occasion in 2006.”
