Companion is an upcoming mystery, science fiction, psychological thriller that looks to also include elements from the horror film genre as well as some moments of comic relief.  The film stars Jack Quaid and Sophie Thatcher as the central characters, Josh and Iris.  The cast also includes Lukas Gage, Megan Suri, Harvey Guillén, and Rupert Friend.

Companion is directed by Drew Hancock. Warner Bros. reports that the film premiers in theaters nationwide on January 10, 2025 and internationally beginning yesterday, January 8, 2025.

Teaser trailer below has 7.2 million hits:

The plot details are largely under wraps, but the film is described as a “unique love story with a dark twist.”  Based upon what we can see in the trailers, it looks like Quaid’s character, Josh, has control over Thatcher’s character, Iris, who appears to be a robot that loses her cool and doesn’t want to be controlled.
