Cops seek help identifying armed suspect who attacked female hotel clerk in Davie (video)
Yesterday, the Davie Police Department reported that they are investigating an assault and an armed robbery that occurred at the Woodspring Suites Hotel located at 5700 Reese Road in Davie, Florida. The attack and the armed robbery went down on December 22 at approximately 4 a.m.
According to police, a black male entered the hotel and walked through the front lobby door. The suspect jumped over the front desk counter and physically grabbed the female clerk. You can see in the video below that the suspect is holding a gun and has his hand firmly wrapped over the clerk’s mouth to prevent her screams from being heard.
Initially, he demanded that she open the hotel safe. According to police however, employees do not have the combination. The suspect then demanded that she open the register. At this time, a guest was walking down the hallway and the clerk began to scream for help. After almost a five-minute struggle, the armed robber jumped back over the counter and fled.Â
The clerk can be seen heroically fighting back against her assailant.
The offender is described by police as being a black male who is believed to be in his 20’s. He was wearing a black hoodie with his face covered. He is medium build between 5’10” and 6’1″.
