Country singer Luke Bell, 32, found dead in Tucson, cause of death revealed
The music world lost one of their shining stars when it was announced yesterday that country western singer Luke Bell was found dead in Midtown Tucson on Monday. Bell made the headlines recently after he was reported missing in Tucson on August 20. The singer was only 32 years old.
Born in Lexington, Kentucky, Bell released his debut self-titled album in 2012. He was known for songs “Where Ya Been?” and his most recent single “Jealous Guy,” which he unveiled last year. He has also opened for the likes of country music stars Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr. and Dwight Yoakam, according to Saving Country Music. ~ CBS News
A close friend of Bell, Matt Kinman, was quoted as saying that Bell had been dealing with a “severe battle” associated with bipolar disorder.
Actress Jessica Chastain of Zero Dark Thirty fame tweeted that the topic of mental illness needs to be brought more to the forefront.
“Please have a listen to #LukeBell today and honor this country soul who lost his battle,” she wrote. “I hope he’s finally found the peace he sought.”

Friend and singer / songwriter Kelsey Waldon, who along with Bell and others, all cut their musical teeth back in the day in Nashville, also took to social media to share her remembrances.
Bell’s manager told TMZ that the country singer struggled and could never really find a way to deal with his bipolar disorder – and that his having gone missing on August 20 wasn’t the first time he had gone missing.
“Luke fought this as hard as he could, but the disease got the better of him,” Buchanan said. “When he was beating the disease, he was the sweetest and most generous guy. He’s found peace now and there’s some comfort.”
Margo Price, country singer/songwriter and music producer based in Nashville also shared her thoughts of her friend . . .
Although Bell’s cause of death is being attributed to his bipolar disorder, the manner in which he died is still pending an autopsy.
