Remains discovered along a walking trail near Loch Raven Reservoir on Friday, May 29 have been identified as that of 16-year-old Gabriela Alejandra Gonzalez Ardon who had been missing from Glen Cove, New York.  Gabriela’s remains were identified by her parents after they reported her missing and matched the girl’s tattoos to those shared by authorities.

After the body was found back in May, police in Baltimore Country reported:

The victim, believed to be an adult Hispanic woman, has yet to be identified. Detectives from the Baltimore County Homicide Unit are releasing photographs of some of the tattoos on the woman’s arms in the hope that someone will recognize them and help to identify the body. Additionally, detectives are releasing this caricature of a bear which was pictured on the dark gray shirt the woman was wearing when she was found.

The woman was found along the Merrymans Trail just before 10 a.m. Friday morning [May 29].

Her death has been ruled a homicide by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.

Back on May 29, Baltimore County Police and Fire Department units responded to a rescue call just before 10 a.m. after a  citizen who was walking along a trail in the woods off of Pot Spring Road near Colonade Road saw the body of a female near the edge of a stream at the bottom of a slope. Arriving units located the body and pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Police in Nassau County, New York, first reported Gabriela as missing on July 4, 2019 when she was still only 15-years old.

The Missing Persons Squad Detectives of Nassau County said that Gabriela was last seen at a beach in Long Beach.

She was described as a female Hispanic, 5’2” tall, 140 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing blue shorts, a white shirt and black sandals.
