Deputies in Pinellas County need help locating escaped prisoner
On March 30, the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office issued a plea to the public to help locate an escaped prisoner. Yesterday at approximately 9:20 a.m., deputies made contact with 40-year-old Kenneth Ray Emery in the vicinity of Seminole Boulevard and Ulmerton Road. Shortly after making contact, deputies discovered that Emery had an active warrant out for his arrest for petit theft.
While the deputies were taking their suspect into custody, Emery made a run for it and fled away on foot, successfully eluding deputies. He was last seen northbound on Seminole Boulevard and still had a handcuff attached to his left wrist.
The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office K9 Unit, Flight Unit, and the Pasco Sheriff’s Office Bloodhound conducted an extensive search for several hours, but to no avail.
Officials described Emery as being approximately 5’9” and weighing 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark blue Tampa Bay Storm jersey, tan jacket, and black pants. Emery has tattoos on the right side of his neck (“Dirty”), on his right fingers (“Spit”) and his left fingers (“Game”).
In addition to his petit theft charge, the Sheriff’s Office said that Emery has several additional active charges filed against him. Those additional charges include:
- Escape,
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm,
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
- Possession and Fentanyl,
- Trafficking in Fentanyl,
- Possession of Forged Notes, Bills, Checks or Drafts, and
- Unlawful Possession of Personal Identification Information of another person.
If anyone has any information on Emery’s whereabouts, please dial 9-1-1 immediately.
