Deputies spot, chase and nab felon wanted on an outstanding meth charge in Vero Beach
On September 25, Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Deputies were dispatched to a ‘suspicious persons’ call at the Cumberland Farms located at 27th Avenue SW and Oslo Road in Vero Beach, Florida. Upon arrival, one of the deputies recognized David Dickard, who has an active felony warrant for failure to appear for a possession of methamphetamine charge, as one of the subjects.
When Dickard saw deputies approaching, he bolted, fleeing on foot into the nearby Ansley Park neighborhood.
A perimeter was established and K9 Deputy Mangel, along with her K9 partner, started tracking the wanted fugitive. Eventually, they located Dickard and he was taken into custody. After being searched following his arrest, methamphetamine was located in Dickard’s pocket.
He was additionally charged with resisting without violence and possession of methamphetamine.
