Detectives ask for help identifying culprit responsible for shooting family pet
On June 19, Special Victims Unit detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office posted a release seeking the public’s assistance for information leading to whoever shot a family pet with a BB gun on or about May 27 near Sunview Park in Florida’s Unincorporated Broward. Detectives described the culprit or culprits responsible for the shooting as “cruel and inhumane.”
On May 30, a very worried woman took her beloved cat, “Wilson,” to the veterinarian. A few days earlier, Wilson had begun acting strangely. He was lethargic, refused to eat and seemed to have trouble breathing.
Upon examination, the veterinarian discovered something nefarious; someone had shot Wilson with a BB gun, and the bullet remained lodged near Wilson’s spine.
Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact BSO Detective Dimos Charoudis at (954) 321-4243 or call Broward Crime Stoppers, anonymously, at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
Tips may also be submitted online at browardcrimestoppers.org.
Anonymous tips that lead to an arrest are eligible for a reward of up to $3,000.
