DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s purse stolen from under her seat while dining in DC restaurant
On the evening of April 20, 2025, (Easter Sunday) Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem had her personal purse stolen while she was dining in a Washington, D.C. restaurant. Reportedly, the secretary’s purse contained a significant amount of cash and several forms of I.D.
At the time, the bag contained a number of sensitive personal items including Noem’s driver’s license, passport, DHS access badge, checks and roughly $3,000 in cash, according to three sources briefed, including two law enforcement officials. ~ CBS News
The theft went down while Noem was dining at The Capital Burger, a popular and busy eatery near DC’s downtown area. CBS went on to report that at the time it was stolen, her purse was situated on the floor beneath her seat, and it was even leaning against her foot.
Reportedly though, there is video surveillance available from inside the restaurant, so hopefully that will provide some clues as to the identity of the brazen thief. The U.S. Secret Service is in charge of the investigation into the purse snatching – but it’ not clear if they were on the job and present at the time of the robbery.
The very next day, April 21, Secretary Noem was in the headlines again when she and the DHS released a public statement, complete with nationwide and international advertisements, warning undocumented immigrants in the U.S. to “self-deport and stay out.”
The multimillion-dollar ads, reportedly “expose the heinous crimes of criminal illegal aliens and warns them to leave America otherwise they will be fined nearly $1,000 per day, imprisoned, and deported.” Noem directs the illegal aliens to download and use the CBP Home app to voluntarily self-deport before they are caught and prevented from ever returning to the United States.
“Child molesters. Rapists. Murderers. These are just a few of the illegal alien scumbags who have been fined, imprisoned, and deported thanks to President Trump,” said Secretary Kristi Noem. “President Trump and I have a clear message to those in our country illegally: LEAVE NOW. If you do not self-deport, we will hunt you down, arrest you, and deport you. Download the FREE CBP Home app today to self-deport.”
This series of ads will run on broadcast television and online, across the United States and internationally. It will be broadcast in multiple languages. Ads will be hyper-targeted, including through social media, text message and digital to reach criminal illegal aliens hiding from law enforcement in the United States. The ads are also targeted toward an international audience to deter any migrant from attempting to cross into the United States illegally.
