Dominic Taddeo: Mafia hitman, 64, escapes from federal custody in Florida

(Updated 04/05/2022) A notorious and murderous mobster, Dominic Taddeo from the Rochester, New York, Cosa Nostra Crime Family, escaped federal custody in Florida and is now on the loose. The 64-year-old hitman made good his escape on March 28 according to Fox News.  Taddeo had pleaded guilty in 1992 to the murders of three men and the attempted murders of two others during the mob wars of the 1980s.
Reportedly, Taddeo’s last known domicile was a halfway house in Wildwood, Florida, where he was residing in preparation for a scheduled release from custody in just a few months.
Taddeo had been transferred from the Federal Correctional Institution (FCI) Coleman Medium “to community confinement in a residential reentry center (RRC) overseen by the Bureau of Prisons’ Orlando Residential Reentry Management Office,” according to the Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson Donald Murphy.
“He failed to return from an authorized appointment to the RRC and was placed on escape status on” Monday, Murphy added. ~ NBC News
The United States Marshal’s Service is taking the lead to search for the escaped hitman.

“An aging mob hitman who escaped from federal custody when he failed to return to a halfway house near Orlando, Florida, last week was captured Monday near Miami, the U.S. Marshals Service said.
Dominic Taddeo, 64, was apprehended without incident by U.S. marshals and members of a regional fugitive task force at about 11 a.m. in Hialeah, a city in Miami-Dade County, officials said.”
