Dover cops arrest man with stolen van loaded with over 131 pounds of pot plants
Police in Dover, Delaware, responded to a call on October 8 regarding a complaint about a suspicious vehicle. The vehicle turned out to be a stolen van loaded with more than 132 marijuana plants.
The Dover Police Department arrested 24-year-old Jaquell McDonald on drug charges after he was found to be in possession of 131.4 pounds of marijuana in that hot van. Officers caught up with McDonald in the 400 Block of Haslet Street after being dispatched to that suspicious vehicle call.
When officers arrived at McDonald’s residence, it was determined the vehicle was stolen out of Delaware State Police jurisdiction. When McDonald was contacted by the officers, he was found to have 72.9 grams of marijuana on his person. A search of the van led to the discovery of an additional 131.4 pounds of marijuana plants.
McDonald was released on a $65,000 unsecured bond on the following offenses:
- Possession with Intent to Deliver Marijuana,
- Possession of Marijuana,
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
