On January 27, detectives with the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office’s Special Investigations Section executed a narcotics search warrant as the result of a several months-long investigation. Throughout the duration of their investigation, detectives purchased trafficking amounts of Fentanyl and Methamphetamine from 43-year-old Callum Eugene Young of Vero Beach, Florida, and his girlfriend, 38-year-old Andrea Bermingham, also from Vero Beach.

The two drug dealers live in the southern portion of Indian River County along with Bermingham’s two children, ages 13 and 15.

Young and Bermingham were taken into custody at their residence and a search of the home was conducted. During the search, over an ounce of both Fentanyl and Methamphetamine, along with smaller amounts of Cocaine and Alprazolam and drug paraphernalia were discovered inside the home.

Deputies also recovered 13 firearms.  One of the firearms, a Winchester Defender 12-gauge shotgun, was reported stolen with the City of Sebastian Police Department.

Following his arrest, Callum Young was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking in Fentanyl (two counts),
  • Trafficking in Methamphetamine (two counts),
  • Sale of Fentanyl,
  • Sale of Methamphetamine,
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (four counts),
  • Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communications Device (two counts),
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and
  • Driving While License Suspended with Knowledge

Andrea Bermingham was also arrested and charged with:

  • Sale of Fentanyl,
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (two counts),
  • Introduction of Contraband into a Correctional Facility, and

Both Young and Bermingham were transported to the Indian River County Jail and are being held without bond.

The local Department of Children’s Services is conducting a separate investigation regarding the welfare and future disposition of the minor children.
