East Naples man charged with 100 counts of child porn
Yesterday, the Collier County Sheriff’s Office headquartered in Naples, Florida, reported that a 66-year-old East Naples man is in the Collier County jail following his arrest Wednesday on more than 100 child pornography-related charges.
Robert Philip Giguere of 4105 Lakewood Blvd. was charged with 100 counts of possession of child pornography. Because multiple images were recovered, he was also charged with one count of child pornography with intent to promote.
The Sheriff’s Office received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children involving the possible upload of child pornography to a suspect Gmail account. Further investigation by CCSO detectives determined the account belonged to Giguere.
Detectives interviewed Giguere at his residence where he gave them his written consent to conduct a forensic download of his laptop computer. Detectives also obtained a search warrant to conduct the forensic download, which involved removing the hard drive and all the data from the laptop.
The review turned up more than 100 files containing images of child pornography.
All of the files were found to contain images of either nude children posing in a lewd manner, children engaged in sex acts with other children, or adults engaging in sex acts with children. The children depicted in the images appeared to range in age from 2 to 13. ~ CCSO
During questioning, Giguere informed the authorities that he regularly visited the Chatropolis chat room, a website where users were free to share their sexual fantasies and fetishes
Giguere also told deputies people often share images of child pornography on the website, according to the sheriff’s office. He said he would chat with others about sexual acts involving children and has downloaded images depicting child pornography, deputies reported. ~ ABC 7 News
