On July 23, Florida’s Collier County Sheriff’s Office reported on their months-long narcotics investigation that concluded yesterday with the arrest of a 69-year-old suspected drug dealer and the seizure of trafficking amounts of fentanyl and cocaine and nearly $100,000 cash.
“The sheer volume of the drugs this individual was dealing and the amount of fentanyl he was putting out on the street was significant,” Sheriff Kevin Rambosk said. “This was an outstanding arrest thanks to terrific investigative work by our Vice and Narcotics Bureau detectives.”
William “Bill” Jones of the 6500 block of Autumn Woods Boulevard in Naples is looking at more than a dozen criminal charges that include five counts of fentanyl trafficking 28 grams or more, four counts of cocaine trafficking 28 grams to 200 grams, and one count of trafficking cocaine 200 grams or more.
The investigation led to the seizure of 742.5 grams of cocaine/fentanyl, the powerful synthetic opioid that’s 80-100 times stronger than morphine, 65 oxycodone pills, and narcotic paraphernalia.
At the culmination of their investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at Jones’s residence yesterday. Detectives seized the following:
- Cocaine, 155 grams
- 153 vape cartridges, 1,710 grams
- 41 THC cigarettes, 392 grams
- Nearly 7.5 pounds of raw marijuana
Detectives also seized $95,955 cash as a result of their investigation. Jones was taken into custody and booked into the Collier County jail.
