Detectives from the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit responded to the scene and began investigating to determine the factors surrounding this fatal shooting.

By the next day, officials released the identities of the two men who died as Cameron Ross Stenhouse, 26, of Four Winds Way, Essex, and Dennis Christopher Vasquez, 34, of 10th Avenue, Parkville.

Detectives determined that the triple shooting occurred during an illicit drug transaction.

CBS News in Baltimore quoted Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski as saying, “They’re working this case hard. I have every confidence we’ll get an arrest in this case.”

On the evening of July 30, the police investigation led officials back to the original scene of the shootings on Foxcroft Lane where they arrested and charged Corey Daniel Powell, 24, with two counts of first-degree murder and one count of attempted first-degree murder in that triple shooting.

That same evening, Powell was transported to the Baltimore County Detention Center where he was being held without bail. Bond was denied for Powell on Thursday afternoon, according to WBAL-TV in Baltimore.
