Beginning yesterday, it became widely reported that the reputation of the “Happiest Place on Earth” might be slightly sadder these days after a former Walt Disney World employee was charged with video-voyeurism after “up skirting” females who were visiting the entertainment resort. Fanning the flames of the story, NBC News in Miami reported that the ex-employee, “surreptitiously took a video up the skirt of a female customer, allegedly telling investigators he had done it more than 500 times over the past six years.”

Although Vega had been taking his disturbing videos for years, it was only recently that he was spotted doing so by a witness who turned him in to the authorities. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office reported that the witness saw Vega “shooting a video up an 18-year-old woman’s skirt.” The video victim told detectives that she wasn’t aware that she was being videotaped by Vega.

The video voyeur was finally arrested on March 31 and was released on $25,000 bail after being charged. ABC News reports Disney World as saying that Vega no longer works for the resort. The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is not saying if additional charges will be levied against Vega.
