Police determined that the shooter was Davis’ ex-wife, 53-year-old, Rachel Odom, who had fled the scene. Background: On February 13, an Oklahoma City attorney, who represents the Odom’s family, received a call indicating an incident involving the suspect and the victim occurred in Tulsa. This led the OKC attorney to believe the victim might have been shot and possibly deceased.
At approximately 7:30 p.m., the OKC attorney contacted a Tulsa attorney, who directly represents Rachel Odom. The Tulsa attorney went to Rachel’s house near 5800 E. 128th Street S. to verify the information received from the OKC attorney. At 8:15 p.m., the Tulsa Police received a call from the Tulsa attorney, who relayed the information and requested that officers meet him at the suspect’s house.
Upon entry, officers discovered Ryan Davis’s lifeless body inside the home. The ex-wife had fled the scene with the couple’s nine-year-old daughter.
The police investigation showed no signs of forced entry or disturbance in the home. Video surveillance indicated that Ryan Davis arrived at the home at 6:27 p.m. with food for three people. At 6:55 p.m. the video shows Rachel Odom leaving the house.
Sometime between 6:27 p.m. and 6:55 p.m., Ryan was shot twice in the back of the head. No other individuals were seen entering or leaving the residence during this period. Rachel Odom drove to Oklahoma City, where she dropped off her daughter before checking into an OKC hospital. Police in Oklahoma City located Odom at an area hospital and remained with her until Tulsa Police Homicide Detectives arrived to take her into custody.
Rachel Odom was transported back to Tulsa for questioning, where she declined to answer any questions. But based on the evidence, she was booked into Tulsa County Jail for 1st Degree Murder.
