On November 15, Florida’s Martin County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported that 42-year old Skyya Lanasha Charles of Riviera Beach felt a little lightheaded when she realized that she was just busted for delivering an “endless supply” of trafficking amounts of fentanyl during an MCSO drug operation.

According to the Sheriff’s Office: “She fainted when she found out that Martin County typically adheres to the 25-year minimum mandatory prison sentence that follows a conviction for trafficking.”

Charles was arrested following an operation to track mid-level dealers selling drugs in Martin County. Throughout the operation, Charles took over sales from a lower-level dealer, touting that she could get “endless amounts” of Fentanyl at any time. She proved and backed up her claim by making the delivery of 140 capsules of fentanyl (21-grams) during the operation.

Additionally, she even offered to sell a sample of the meth she had available. She made good on her promises. Once she did, Special Investigations Detectives gave her the news that weakened her spirit.

After Charles awakened from her fainting spell, she was arrested and charged with trafficking in Fentanyl and possession of a controlled substance, which again, carries a minimum mandatory sentence of 25 years in prison.
