If you haven’t caught the show yet, “Star Trek: Picard” features Patrick Stewart reprising his iconic role as Jean-Luc Picard, which he played for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation.” The show follows Picard into the next chapter of his life. LeVar Burton, Michael Dorn, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner, Jeri Ryan and Michelle Hurd star alongside Patrick Stewart in the third and final season of the hit Paramount+ original series.
Synopsis: In the epic, thrilling conclusion of “Star Trek: Picard”, a desperate message from a long-lost friend draws Starfleet legend Admiral Jean-Luc Picard into the most daring mission of his life, forcing him to recruit allies spanning generations old and new. This final adventure sets him on a collision course with the legacy of his past and explosive, new revelations that will alter the fate of the Federation forever.
Seasons one and two of “Star Trek: Picard” are currently streaming on Paramount+ in the U.S.
On a much sadder note, Annie Wersching, the actor who played the Borg Queen in Season 2 of “Star Trek: Picard” has died. She also played that iconic character in the “Star Trek: The Next Generation” TV show. If you have been following Picard on Paramount+, you may not even have recognized Wersching as the Borg Queen due to the extreme makeup she had to undergo for the role. But you would more than likely recognize her from her roles in 24, Timeless, and most recently, The Rookie. Wersching was 45-years-old at the time of her passing.
According to an online fundraiser launched in support of Wershing’s family, Wersching received a cancer diagnosis in 2020, ahead of filming Star Trek: Picard, but chose not to reveal it publicly. “She wanted to live her life, on her terms, and be with her family,” the fundraiser says. “She loved her work and cherished her friends, but Steve and the boys were her absolute everything.” ~ ComicBook.Com
