Five Baltimore City armed carjacking suspects busted in Essex
Police in Baltimore City just released word that on December 30. at approximately 10:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Elreno Street to investigate an armed carjacking. Upon their arrival, officers spoke with the victim, who told them that he was at the intersection of Bank Street and Elreno Street when he observed a black-colored vehicle approaching him.
Two unidentified males got out of that that vehicle, pointed a gun at the victim and demanded that he exit his vehicle. The suspects then entered the vehicles and drove southbound on Elreno Street towards Eastern Avenue.
Foxtrot was requested and responded for an area canvas. Fortunately, the victim’s vehicle was equipped with Onstar, which officers were able to use to determine the location of the carjacked vehicle – which turned out to be the 1200 block of Bridge Crossing Road (Route 702) in Baltimore County, Essex.
Foxtrot responded to that location and spotted the vehicle. District officers responded to the location with the assistance of Baltimore County. The suspects bailed out of the vehicle, and after a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended three juveniles (a 15-year-old male, a 16-year-old male, and a 17-year-old male) and two adults (an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old male).
Officers recovered a Glock 17 replica from one of the juvenile suspects. The suspect vehicle and the carjacked vehicle were both recovered.
All suspects were transported to the Central Booking intake facility and Juvenile Booking and charged accordingly.
