Yesterday, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO,) headquartered in Vero Beach, Florida, reported that the agency’s special Investigations detectives learned about a couple selling fentanyl and methamphetamine from their residence located at 1725 40th Avenue, a home that is only a “stones-throw away from both Rosewood Magnet School & Vero Beach Little League Baseball Fields.”

The Sheriff’s Office said that a multi-agency investigation confirmed that the illegal activity was indeed taking place, and as a result, detectives were able to secure arrest warrants for the couple living in the home.

Robert W. King, 56, and Nicole A. Ladouceur, 37, were identified and ultimately arrested for the sale of fentanyl. A search warrant was also obtained for the residence for the purpose of securing additional evidence related to drug sales.

On Saturday, April 22, members of the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team along with detectives from the IRCSO Special Investigations Section and Vero Beach Police Department executed the search warrant at the couple’s home.

Inside the residence, detectives found trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and fentanyl, along with other items of drug paraphernalia. A firearm was also recovered which had the serial numbers removed.

  • possession of suboxone,
  • possession of firearm by convicted felon,
  • user or possession of drug paraphernalia,
  • possession of new legend drug without a prescription (two counts.)

Ladouceur was charged were sale, delivery or possession with intent to sell or deliver fentanyl within 1,0000 feet of a school and possession of fentanyl.

Both King and Ladouceur are in the Indian River County Jail.  They both have a court hearing scheduled for June 1.
