On November 22, the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) reported that a 54-year-old Florida dad and his 30-year-old daughter were both taken into custody early Sunday morning, November 21, following an altercation at the Brass Monkey bar in Marathon, Florida. The father and daughter duo, Keith Warren Crews and Grace Ann Crews, both of Marathon, were each charged with battery and resisting arrest.
Multiple deputies responded to the bar at approximately 1:30 a.m. regarding a battery that had already occurred.
The victim stated Grace Crews took her seat at the bar, which spurred a verbal disagreement.
The victim went onto tell deputies that Grace Crews eventually kicked her and punched her in the face. Deputies noted a fresh bruise under the victim’s eye.
Grace Crews initially refused to provide her identification or give her name or date of birth.
While Deputies spoke to Grace Crews, her father (Keith Crews) along with her mother and brother began to interfere with Deputies as they placed her in custody.
Keith Crews did not obey Deputies’ commands to back up and began to loudly curse at them. The dad resisted arrest by tensing up and pulling away when Deputies tried to detain him.
Both father and daughter Crews were taken to jail.
