Florida man carjacks his ex, puts knife to her throat, chokes her while making her drive
Yesterday, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) reported arresting a man from Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on charges of domestic violence related aggravated battery and domestic violence related kidnapping, as well as robbery by sudden snatching, and criminal mischief.
Deputies said that 50-year-old Schrolf Barnes, of no permanent address, got into a car owned by his former girlfriend and held a large knife to her throat. He then ordered her to drive out of the area while choking her and threatening her life.
The female victim told deputies that she managed to locate a residence, parked in front of it, and began honking her car horn for help. Barnes tried to grab her purse before fleeing. Officials say that the woman’s injuries were consistent with her statement.
OCSO deputies located Barnes at a car wash on Eglin Parkway and took him into custody. Barnes denied seeing the victim or being involved in any type of disturbance with his former girlfriend; but deputies still booked him into the Okaloosa County Jail where is being held with no bond, according to WEAR-TV.
