Florida man charged after punching man honking his horn in fast food drive-thru
Thomas Moran Anderson, 62, of 4281 Hampton Lane in North Naples was arrested on January 23 in connection to a January 18 incident at the Chick-fil-A located at 5825 Airport-Pulling Road in North Naples, Florida.
According to the Collier County Sheriff’s Office in Naples, deputies responded to a report of a disturbance at Chick-fil-A around 4:45 p.m. The victim told deputies that he had just picked up his food at the drive-thru window and was attempting to leave – but a vehicle in line for the drive-thru was blocking his path.
The victim said he beeped his car horn at the vehicle, a black 2019 Ford Edge, that was blocking his path and the driver responded by gesturing at him with his middle finger. The victim beeped his horn again and the driver, later identified as Anderson, got out of his vehicle and began walking toward the victim while cursing at him.
Anderson walked up to the driver’s side door and punched the victim in the head through the open window, sheriff’s reports said. Two young children were inside the victim’s vehicle at the time. A passenger in the victim’s car got out and confronted Anderson. Anderson drove away. The passenger was able to take a picture of Anderson’s license plate and provided it to deputies.
Anderson was picked out of a photo lineup shown to the victim and several witnesses. He was determined to be the perpetrator in the food fight, according to NBC News.
Detectives attempted to make contact with Anderson at his residence on multiple occasions, reports said. Anderson turned himself in at the Naples Jail Center on Thursday.
Fox News reports that Anderson is looking at a felony burglary with battery charge.
