Florida man stomps woman’s kitten to death because it wouldn’t stop crying
James Thomas Miller of Emerald Lane in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, was arrested by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO ) and charged with stepping on a woman’s new kitten and killing it because he “was unhappy with it.” The 40-year-old kitten killer was charged with felony animal cruelty.
The woman told deputies the man told her back on November 24 that he was going to kill the kitty because the feline kept crying. She says she later heard a loud noise coming from upstairs and went to see what it was. Miller looked at the woman and said “What did I do?” – and she saw the kitten was severely injured and having convulsions.
The kitten died as a result of Miller’s actions. OCSO deputies said that Miller “intentionally, forcefully, and unnecessarily killed the kitten,” which is a third-degree felony.
The 2021 Florida Statutes state that “a felony of the third degree, is punishable as provided in s. 775.082 or by a fine of not more than $10,000, or both.”
Miller was booked into the Okaloosa County Jail on December 8 and was released on a $5,000 bond the following day, according to jail records as reported by nwfdaily news.
