On April 18, the Tulsa Police Department reported on a case where their officers were called out on Sunday, April 16, to St. John Medical Center to check on a possible wanted suspect.  Police in Tulsa said that they received an anonymous tip that wanted man Jeremiah Johnson was at the hospital and that he had a felony warrant for his arrest out of Florida.

Officers confirmed Johnson had two felony warrants out of Monroe County in Florida, one for Distributing Cocaine and the other for Homicide.  Johnson is accused of selling drugs to a man who overdosed and died in 2022.

Back in February 2022, deputies with Florida’s Monroe County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence in Marathon where they discovered Brandon Marr, 42, deceased at a friend’s apartment. The Sheriff’s Office said that a combination of alcohol and cocaine was the cause of death.

Another man in the case, Ronald Meyers III, 39, of Marathon, was arrested in February 2023 as a co-defendant of Johnson’s in Marr’s drug overdose death.  Meyers was captured in South Carolina and charged with murder and the use of a two-way communications device to facilitate a felony in the death of Brandon Marr, according to Local 10 News.

“My message is clear: Those responsible for the sale of drugs that result in someone’s death will be arrested and face very serious charges,” said Monroe County Sheriff Rick Ramsay. ~ Newsbreak

Tulsa police arrested Johnson and booked him into jail as a Fugitive from Justice. He will be extradited back to Monroe County, Florida, in the near future.
