If you know your sister is carrying a knife, choose another time to bring up her excessive drinking habits. Yesterday, the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office reported on a 911 call received regarding a stabbing that occurred at the Texaco gas station located at 4993 US 441 South, in Okeechobee, Florida, on January 10.

The Sheriff’s Office said that a female victim was inside a parked vehicle when her sister became enraged, and an argument about the suspect’s excessive drinking started.  The stabbing suspect was identified as a 69-year-old Florida woman – Kenna Leffler.

During the argument, the two witnesses in the car stated that Kenna Leffler produced a pocket knife and stabbed her sibling in the neck with the four-inch blade.  One those passengers in the car at the time of the stabbing knocked the knife out of her hand and held onto Leffler as they drove the victim directly to the hospital.

The authorities were called and initial information about the stabbing and updates on their location and the victim’s status was provided.  When the group arrived at the hospital, Okeechobee City Police Officers (OCPD,) who had been monitoring the radio, were already waiting on the scene.

The witnesses in the car could identify Kenna Leffler as the stabbing suspect, and OCPD secured her until detectives arrived.  The knife was located on the floorboard where Leffler was seated.

The victim and witnesses stated there had been a history of death threats from the sister towards this sibling, but no one thought the suspect would ever take it to this violent and potentially deadly level, according to ABC 15 News.

Kenna Leffler was arrested on the charge of Premeditated Attempted Murder and is being held without bond at the Okeechobee County Jail Facility, according to CBS 12 News.

The Sheriff’s Office went on to report that the stabbing victim is expected to recover from her stab wound.
