Fort Walton Beach: Naked toddlers covered in feces found running through traffic
On September 9, Florida’s Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) shared a report regarding a story of local parents neglecting their children at a level that is both shocking and heartbreaking. Around 9 a.m. this past Sunday morning, OCSO deputies discovered a naked toddler running around in the Green Acres Road and Green Acres Boulevard area.
Not only was the nude baby boy running around unattended – he was running across four lanes of busy Sunday morning traffic. The Sheriff’s Office said that although the child came close to being struck by several vehicles, deputies managed to catch up with him and take him to safety. Making matters worse, the Sheriff’s Office also reported that deputies had to clean the child up and wrap him up in a towel as they found him to be covered in his own feces.
Shockingly, deputies recognized the young boy and transported him to a home near Fort Walton Beach, “where they spotted another nude child running around nearby. The second child also had feces on his body.”
OCSO Deputies and an Investigator made their way to the home of the two children, where they discovered deplorable conditions throughout the residence, “as well as prescription medications within reach of a total of five children, all under the age of 12.”
The Department of Children and Families has begun an investigation into the situation. Meanwhile, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office has already charged the boys’ parents, 34-year-old Danielle Roberson and 32-year-old Jacob Roberson, with five counts of child neglect each.
On September 9, WKRG reported that the father bonded out of jail on Monday afternoon, while the mother was still behind bars.
