Fox News host Eric Bolling allegedly sent images of male genitals to female colleagues
Fox News Anchor Eric Bolling has been suspended by the network pending an on-going investigation looking into allegations that he sexually harassed female colleagues and that he sent “unwanted lewd texts with an unsolicited photo of male genitalia to at least three female colleagues,” according to an August 5 report from The Huffington Post. Bolling’s lawyers are saying that their client is innocent of those allegations. Prior to his suspension, Bolling was co-hosting “The Fox News Specialists” and was the primary host for Fox’s Saturday morning show “Cashin’ In.”
The investigation into Bolling’s alleged lewd texts is being conducted by the legal firm Paul Weiss. The female recipients of Bolling’s unwanted texts are reported to be current and former Fox colleagues. This latest suspension of a Fox News host comes amid several sexual harassment lawsuits being levied against the network and the “departures of the late Roger Ailes, former host Bill O’Reilly for similar claims, as well as a raft of departures of top executives,” according to NPR. Fox also had a defamation lawsuit filed against them earlier last week claiming that the network falsified quotes and promoted a story that favored President Donald Trump.
Just hours after news of Bolling’s suspension was reported, Caroline Heldman – who was a regular Fox News guest from 2008 and 2011 – also came forward to accuse Bolling of sexual harassment. Heldman went on to say that Bolling was only one of three Fox News employees that sexually harassed her. Regarding the graphic sexual images and texts that Bolling allegedly sent to his former and current female Fox colleagues, Bolling’s lawyer, Michael J. Bowe, told the Huffington Post, “Mr. Bolling recalls no such inappropriate communications, does not believe he sent any such communications, and will vigorously pursue his legal remedies for any false and defamatory accusations that are made.”
Heldman shared a lengthy post to her Facebook page regarding Bolling’s suspension and her claims of his sexual harassment. Among other things she said that, “My only surprise is that it took this long for people to come forward about Bolling’s behavior, which has been wildly inappropriate for years.” She also wrote “Bolling referred to me as ‘Dr. McHottie’ on air on four different occasions, and called me ‘smart, beautiful, and wrong’ on air twice.”
Helldman also told The Huffington Post that in addition to Bolling, she was also sexually harassed by former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly and former Fox News consultant Woody Fraser. Mother Jones reported on August 3 that Heldman said that she was offered a paid position at Fox News by Fraser in exchange for sex and that she’s aware of other women who have been sexually harassed by Bolling.
