Hagerstown: Twin, homeless, 21-year-old brothers charged with attempted murder: One caught, one sought
On December 2, Maryland’s Hagerstown Police Department announced that authorities are looking for one of two twin homeless brothers wanted in connection with a potentially deadly stabbing. One of the brothers has already been taken into custody.
Joshua Kohutiak, 21, has an active warrant for that stabbing which occurred on November 26, 2022, in the 100 block of E. Antietam Street. Kohutiak’s twin brother, Jacob, has already been arrested on the same charges involving this incident.
Joshua Kohutiak has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and reckless endangerment in the stabbing of Octovial Taft, court records state. An arrest warrant was served for Jacob Kohutiak on Wednesday, according to an online court docket. ~ Herald Mail Media
The brothers and the victim were known to one another. Police say that Joshua is homeless and is known to use his bicycle for transportation. Jacob has been ordered to be held without bond at the Washington County Detention Center, according to Yahoo! News.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Det. Vogel at 301-791-2598. If Kohutiak is seen, the public is asked to call 911.
