Hilary Swank to portray an astronaut in Netflix mini-series space drama ‘Away’
On May 8, Netflix revealed that two-time Academy Award winning actress Hilary Swank of “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Million Dollar Baby” and “PS I Love You” fame will star as astronaut Emma Green in the 10-episode drama series, “Away.” Swank will also serve as executive producer for the series.
The 10 episodes will center on Emma Green, an American astronaut who must leave her husband and teenage daughter behind to command an international space crew embarking upon a treacherous mission. Netflix said that “Away” will be a series about hope, humanity and how we need one another if we are to achieve impossible things.
According to Deadline, Swank won her two best leading actress Oscars for “Boys Don’t Cry” and “Million Dollar Baby.” The actress has also appeared on the small screen on TV’s “Beverly Hills, 90210.”
No release date for “Away” has been announced.
