‘Home Improvement’ child star Zachery Ty Bryan arrested in Myrtle Beach on domestic violence charge
Former child star and eldest son from TV’s “Home Improvement” sitcom, Zachery Ty Bryan, now 43-years-old and with an adult history of being in and out of jail on a revolving door basis, has been arrested again, this time in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on domestic violence charges. The arrest went down on January 2 when, according to TMZ, a woman claimed that Bryan punched her in the face several times.
She also claims he choked her, cutting off her breathing and making her fear for her life, she says. The two reportedly share a child together. This was Bryan’s third arrest in the last 12 months. ~ CBS News 12
Following his latest arrest, Bryan is now looking at a second-degree domestic violence charge. He was released from jail on Friday after posting a $10,000 bond, according to WFBM News.
The actor’s legal woes go back to at least 2020 when he was also arrested on domestic violence charges and accused of strangling a woman. He was arrested again in 2023, “on assault, robbery and harassment charges,” again in connection with a domestic situation. In 2024, he was arrested twice on DUI charges.

Bryan seems to be getting very close to bottoming out, if he hasn’t already. Here’s hoping the former child star straightens up and gets the professional help he so obviously needs – before things get any worse – for him and for those around him.
