Hulk Hogan and ex-wife Linda banned indefinitely from all AEW events for racist remarks
First, famed American wrestler Hulk Hogan, a.k.a. Terry Gene Bollea, was banned from All Elite Wrestling (AEW) for making disparaging racial comments; and now his ex-wife, Linda Hogan, has also been banned for an indefinite period – for also making racist comments during the recent riots that have scourged many American towns and cities.
According to The Bleacher Report, Hulk Hogan, now 66 and retired from the ring, was banned by the AEW when he, “referenced a man he believed might be romantically involved with his daughter by using racial slurs.”
The Hulk’s ban from the AEW resulted when a sex tape of his was made public that depicted him making homophobic comments while also using the N-word repeatedly. Throughout that sex tape, Hogan was recorded while discussing a possible relationship his daughter may have been having.
According to The Daily Beast and Heavy, the Hall of Fame wrestler was recorded back in 2015 saying: “I don’t know if Brooke was f***ing the black guy’s son,” Hogan said.
“I mean, I don’t have double standards. I mean, I am a racist, to a point, f***ing n****rs. But then when it comes to nice people and sh*t, and whatever. I mean, I’d rather if she was going to f*** some n****r, I’d rather have her marry an 8-foot-tall n****r worth a hundred million dollars! Like a basketball player!”
Not to be outdone, on the evening of May 30, Hulk’s ex-wife Linda composed a tweet where she called out some of the recent protesters and looters. That tweet has since been deleted from her feed; but she wrote: “… watching the looting, it’s all afro Americans, not sure how robbing and stealing set the record straight but if they want to be heard they need to be civilized.”
Linda’s tweet has since been deleted, but was enough for AEW President & CEO Tony Khan to take to his Twitter feed yesterday and inform the 60-year-old mother of Brooke and Nick that she was joining her ex in being formally banned from attending All Elite Wrestling events due to her racist comments.
As of this writing, there’s no mention on Linda Hogan’s Twitter feed regarding her being banned indefinitely from AEW events based upon her recent comments.
But shortly after his racist comments surfaced on that leaked sex tape back in 2015, Hulk Hogan offered up an apology for his behavior during a People interview:
“Eight years ago I used offensive language during a conversation. It was unacceptable for me to have used that offensive language; there is no excuse for it, and I apologize for having done it.
This is not who I am. I believe very strongly that every person in the world is important and should not be treated differently based on race, gender, orientation, religious beliefs or otherwise. I am disappointed with myself that I used language that is offensive and inconsistent with my own beliefs.” ~ Hulk Hogan
