A father’s desperate search for his missing daughter has come to a tragic end. On May 21, we reported that the concerned father, Chris Jacobsen from East Islip, New York, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) were searching for 20-year-old Jenna Jacobsen, who had traveled to Florida from her home in New York to receive treatment at a facility in Florida for substance abuse. Jenna never arrived at that facility.

Jenna was last seen on April 25 in Lake Worth Beach, Florida.  No-one had seen or heard from her since.

But yesterday, PBSO reported that human bones found in a scrub area in Lantana, Florida, on Thursday, May 30, have been identified as being Jenna’s.  Jenna’s remains were discovered in that wooded area just a few miles away from where she was last seen in April.

That wooded area where Jenna’s remains were found is located at the 1200 block of Southwinds Drive in Lantana, east of Interstate 95 and north of W. Lantana Road.

Detectives found Jenna’s remains on Thursday after receiving a call about possible human bones being found in that area.  By yesterday, the Palm Beach County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed that the remains were those of Jenna Jacobsen.

The medical examiner has advised detectives that Jenna died of undetermined means; however, detectives are investigating her death as a homicide.
