(05/02/2022 Update)  Yesterday it was reported that the remains discovered in Texas last December have been identified as those of 29-year-old missing Taylor Pomaski – who was last seen on April 25, 2021.  Her former boyfriend, Kevin Ware Jr., who played for the San Francisco 49ers, has been being held without bail on charges unrelated to her disappearance.

The identification was made by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences, Harris County Sheriff’s Office Senior Deputy Thomas Gilliland said in an email.

“The investigation is still open and active and homicide investigators are diligent on bringing this case to a close,” Gilliland said.  ~ NBC News

As of this writing, Ware – although having been previously questioned regarding Taylor’s disappearance – has not yet been named a suspect in either her disappearance or her death.

Deputies say no suspects have been arrested in connection to Pomaski’s case, according to KPRC-TV. An official cause of death has yet to be revealed, and toxicology results are still pending, per the outlet. ~ People

Ace News Today’s original report regarding Taylor’s remains being discovered appears below.

(Original article from Dec. 15, 2021) Taylor Pomaski, 29, girlfriend of former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr., was last seen at a party in Spring, Texas, on April 25.  No-one has heard from her since.  Pomaski was reported missing by family members on May 11.

Kevin Ware, a convicted felon with a lengthy criminal history, is a former tight end for the San Francisco 49ers. Although a person of interest in his former girlfriend’s disappearance, he has not been charged as such.

Pomaski’s case was originally being investigated by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Missing Persons Unit. But on May 19th, her missing persons case was transferred over to the HCSO Homicide Unit for further investigation.

Homicide investigators believe that Pomaski disappeared under very suspicious circumstances and fear that she is a victim of foul play.

On June 29, Pomaski’s boyfriend, former NFL player Kevin Ware Jr., was ordered to be jailed without bail by a judge in Montgomery County for certain parole violations and missing a court date involving weapons and drug charges.  Those charges and his current incarceration are unrelated to his former girlfriend’s disappearance.

But also on June 29, Montgomery County prosecutors wrote that Ware was a suspect in a murder investigation related to Pomaski’s disappearance, according to a report by Click 2 Houston.

Things stayed fairly quiet regarding Pomaski’s disappearance until it was reported on December 14 that, while searching for her, human remains were found during an excavation of a site in North Harris County on December 10.

“At this time, investigators are unclear on the identity of the remains, but investigators believe them to be related to the Pomaski case,” (Harris County Sheriff) Gonzalez said.  ~ NBC News

Identification of the recently discovered human remains are currently underway.  Ware, 41, has not yet been charged in connection with Pomaski’s disappearance or possible murder.

Anyone with information regarding the disappearance of Taylor Pomaski or information about her last known whereabouts is encouraged to contact the HCSO Homicide Unit at 713-274-9100.
