Indian River County first responders save Santa Claus and arrest the Grinch (Video)
This just in! Earlier this week, Florida’s Indian River County Sheriff’s Office (IRCSO), Vero Beach Police Department, Indian River Shores Public Safety, and the IR Fire Rescue escorted Santa Claus to Imagine School for a group of over a hundred children waiting for his arrival.
Santa Claus was able to visit with the children alongside all of the officers. Deputies even had to break up a fight between Santa and the Grinch.
Santa was safely put back on his mission before riding off on a fire truck back to the north pole.
Officials were also able to report that The Grinch was booked into the Indian River County Jail and immediately transported to the Court House for his trial. The Grinch was charged with the following:
- Burglary
- Grand Theft Valued over $750.00
- Flee and Eluding Law Enforcement
- Resisting Officer Without Violence
- Attaching a Registration License Plate Not Assigned
During the trial, the Sheriff’s Office was happy to report that a jury of children from our community got to review the evidence and listen to the prosecutor and the defense. The jury found the defendant GUILTY of all charges!
We can proudly say The Grinch will be serving his sentence in our Jail for the next year or until his small heart grows 3 sizes! Thank you to all of our community’s tips, assistance, and support for catching the Grinch and saving Christmas once more! Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us here at the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office. ~ IRCSO
