On Thursday, August 15th, the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office concluded a narcotics investigation with the service of a search warrant in the 6300 block of 85th Street in Vero Beach, Florida. Detectives obtained arrest warrants for William Howard Lee III, 48, Jeramiah Pittman, 30, and Anthony Wheeler, 48, prior to serving that search warrant. All three men were charged with sale of cocaine within 1,000 feet of a church and possession of cocaine.
As the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team, patrol, and K-9 deputies arrived at the residence multiple subjects fled on foot. With the assistance of HAWK – the IRC helicopter and aviation team – all subjects were taken into custody without incident.
A search of the residence revealed 17.8 grams of cocaine, 28 grams of oxycodone, 72 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia including scales and pipes. Sheldon Thomas, 21, and Jamar Wright, 33, were both arrested and charged with resisting without violence. Additional charges stemming from the search are forthcoming.
Indian River County Sheriff Deryl Loar stated, “Our detectives were able to purchase cocaine on multiple occasions from this drug house. Yesterday, we arrested those individuals who sold cocaine to our detectives and shut down their operation. We will continue to target those who peddle illegal and dangerous narcotics on our streets and eradicate them from our community.”
Pittman is currently being held without bond due to outstanding charges. Lee and Wheeler are being held on $50,000.00 bond. Thomas and Wright have both posted bond.
