Jacksonville math teacher arrested for trying to have sex with minor student
On February 22, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office reported that following a sex crime investigation they had conducted into the activities of a local teacher, that on February 19 they arrested 28-year-old Jason Jamall Camaron Clark – a sports coach and math teacher employed at Ribault High School in Jacksonville, Florida. Clark was taken into custody on charges of Offenses Against Students by Authority Figures and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.
According to their arrest report, authorities said that the teacher had a meeting with a minor at the Hyde Park Food Mart after conversing with the minor on FaceTime. “Clark was accused of attempting to engage a student in a sex act,” according to News4JAX.
Action News Jax reached out to Duval County Public Schools District and received the following statement: “The district is aware and is monitoring the situation as a human resources matter. The employee has been reassigned to duties without student contact until the matter is concluded.”
The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reached out to their community seeking information regarding any other possible victims with whom Clark may have been involved. The Sheriff’s Office asks that anyone with any additional information related to their investigation to please call them at (904) 630-0500.
Following his arrest, Clark was released from jail after paying bond. He’s scheduled to be in court on March 15.
