Jeffrey Sandusky, Jerry’s son, pleads guilty to 14 counts of child sexual abuse
In a strange and sadly ironic case of ‘like father, like son,” Jeffrey Sandusky, 41, who is the son of former Penn State football coach and convicted pedophile Jerry Sandusky – pleaded guilty on September 15 to 14 counts of child sexual abuse. The younger Sandusky was charged in February and pleaded guilty to those 14 charges one week before his trial was set to begin in Centre Country, Pennsylvania. The charges against him date back to allegations that he sexually abused two girls, one in 2013 and one in 2016, according to CNN.
In 2016, one of those female victims told her father that Sandusky had been texting her repeatedly and asking her to send him naked pictures. That father contacted the police. As the investigation ensued, police discovered that Sandusky had been asking another girl to perform oral sex on him. In an effort to coerce the girls, Sandusky said at one point that he “had studied medicine” and on another occasion that he discovered that one of his victims had shared a nude picture with her boyfriend – and that he wanted her to share nude photos of herself with him too.
Sandusky’s guilty plea will ensure that he will become a Tier III sex offender, which is the highest category of sexual offenders allowable in Pennsylvania. The Centre Daily Times reported that the 14 charges to which Sandusky pleaded guilty to include two misdemeanor counts of corruption of minors and 12 felonies: “solicitation to commit statutory sexual assault; solicitation to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse; two counts of solicitation to commit sexual abuse of children; two counts of solicitation to photograph, videotape, depict on computer, or film sexual acts; six counts of unlawful contact with a minor.” Sandusky will be spending the next three to eight years behind bars on those guilty convictions.
Jeffrey is one of Jerry Sandusky’s six adopted children. Jerry Sandusky is currently incarcerated for perhaps the next 60 years after being found guilty of 45 counts of child sexual abuse back in 2012, according to NPR. The elder Sandusky was arrested in 2011 after originally being charged with 52 counts of sexual abuse of young boys that spanned a 15-year period from 1994 through 2009.
