Back on June 11, Baltimore County Police were dispatched to a home in the 7400 block of Kathydale Road, in Pikesville, Maryland, just before 10 p.m. where a young woman identified as 18-year-old Dymond Ariel Jones was pronounced dead at the scene. Jones was found unresponsive in her bedroom by family members. Immediately upon their investigation, police viewed Jones’ death as suspicious as she had suffered visible trauma to her upper body.

Her remains were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause and manner of death.  By June 13, the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner had determined that the woman’s death was a homicide and that she died from a gunshot wound.

Jones’ boyfriend, Johnny Ray Woods III of the 3900 block of Bareva Road, in Baltimore’s Lochearn section, provided a statement to police that conflicted with evidence collected at the scene. Over the Fourth of July weekend, police reported that the 20-year-old Woods had been arrested and charged with second degree murder and the use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

Woods is currently being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center pending a bail review hearing.

Anyone with information that may concern the woman’s death is asked to contact Homicide Unit detectives by calling 410-307-2020. Callers may remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward when submitting tips through Metro Crime Stoppers.
