Known felon, ‘significant drug dealer’ taken off the streets
On New Year’s Eve, Florida’s Indian River County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) reported on the completion of an undercover investigation that resulted in the successful apprehension of 41-year-old Leroy White. TC Palm shared that White, a Vero Beach resident, had also been arrested back in 2019 on a warrant for, “violation of probation, sale, manufacture or delivery of cocaine.”
Fast forward to 2022, and after investigating and witnessing White’s illegal activities as a “significant drug dealer and supplier” in the community, SIU Detectives secured an arrest warrant for the following charges against him:
- Sale of a Controlled Substance within 1000 feet of a daycare
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Unlawful Use of a Communications Device
At the time of his arrest, White was also out on bond for the following:
- 2 charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance Without a Prescription
- Possession and Sale of MDMA
- Manufacture and Delivery of Cocaine
- Possession and Sale of Methamphetamine
- Possession W/ Intent to Sell or Deliver Fentanyl
- Possession of Alprazolam with Intent to Sale
- Sale, Manufacturer, and Delivery of Buprenorphine
- Possession and Sale of Oxycodone
- Trafficking Amphetamines
- Possession of Marijuana
On December 9, Detectives located White driving a green Nissan Armada in Vero Beach. To avoid a pursuit, Detectives were able to covertly follow White until he eventually stopped his vehicle. Detectives then blocked White’s vehicle from moving and immediately took him into custody. Due to the circumstances of the apprehension, White was quickly removed from the location and immediately transported to the county Jail.
While conducting a thorough search of White and the prisoner transport area of the vehicle, detectives located the following:
- 10 grams of Fentanyl 10 packaged for sale.
- 3.9 grams of Cocaine
- 6.5 grams Methamphetamine
- 14 pills of Clonazepam (Klonopin)
- 5 pills of Oxycodone Hydrochloride
- 9 pills of MPMA
- 8 pills of an unknown substance
- 16 grams of Marijuana
The Sheriff’s Office concluded their report by stating, “We will not tolerate having criminals put poison into our community!”
