Leonardo DiCaprio saves drowning man who was reported lost at sea
As 2019 was coming to a close, actor and philanthropist Leonardo DiCaprio was vacationing for the News Years holiday on St. Barts with his girlfriend Camila Morrone. On December 30 while yachting in the Caribbean, the actor and his crew joined in a rescue search that was underway for a man who was reported missing from a cruise ship. DiCaprio and his cohorts are now being credited with helping locate and save the life of a man who had fallen off that cruise ship, according to Yahoo! News.
The man who fell from the Club Med cruise ship and reported lost at sea was reportedly drunk when last seen, according to People. DiCaprio, boating on a vessel he was renting while vacationing, joined in the search for the man, who was reported to be a French crew member from that cruise ship. The Frenchman’s name was Victor.
“The captain of his ship sent out a panicked emergency message and Leonardo and his team agreed to look for the poor guy.”
Victor was spotted by Leonardo DiCaprio’s crew near Saba Island just before dusk. They found him before a storm closing in. Severely dehydrated, he had been treading water for 11 hours and was minutes away from drowning.

Victor reportedly cried tears of both desperation and joy when DiCaprio and his crew pulled him from the Caribbean waters and onto the actor’s boat. DiCaprio and his crew provided food, water, dry clothes and comfort to Victor before passing him over to coastguard officials.
The 45-year-old DiCaprio has been making headlines recently for his recent role in Quentin Tarantino’s film “Once Upon A Time In Hollywood,” where he along with co-star Brad Pitt are both considered to be front runners as Oscar nominees.
