Lindsey Graham fights Ga. subpoena to testify about his 2020 presidential election interference
Trump supporter and still the Republican Senator from the great State of South Carolina, Lindsey Graham, is fighting a subpoena which compels him to testify in the probe issued by the State of Georgia looking into former President Donald Trump’s interference – and Graham’s alleged possible interference – in the 2020 presidential election. Graham, who has flip-flopped in his support for the ex-president and Trump’s involvement in the January 6 Capitol Riots, is arguing that he played no role in interfering with the 2020 election and that the subpoena infringes on constitutional protections for members of Congress, according to Yahoo! News.

Prosecutors in the case surrounding Trump’s interference in the 2020 presidential election want to hear from Graham regarding the two telephone calls the South Carolina Senator made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, and Raffensperger’s staff, when it became apparent that Trump had lost the election.
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the investigation into Trump’s interference into the 2020 election, shared the following with MSN:
“During the telephone calls, the Witness questioned Secretary Raffensperger and his staff about reexamining certain absentee ballots cast in Georgia in order to explore the possibility of a more favorable outcome for former President Donald Trump,” Willis wrote in her court filing seeking Graham’s testimony.
“The Witness also made reference to allegations of widespread voter fraud in the November 2020 election in Georgia, consistent with public statements made by known affiliates of the Trump Campaign.”
In a July 12 opinion piece, NBC News wrote that, “on Monday a judge ordered Graham to comply [to the subpoena] and that his challenging the order is the opposite of good faith.”
“It is a delay and distortion tactic, echoing our former president. And that might be Trump’s saddest and most enduring legacy — a group of leaders still in office, destined to repeat his abusive behaviors.”
