LSU running back Trey Holly arrested, charged with attempted murder in double shooting

On February 15, the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office (UPSO) reported the arrests of three suspects in connection to a double shooting in an apartment complex in Louisiana. One of those shooting suspects arrested was identified as Louisiana State University (LSU) freshman running back Trey Holly – who is now looking at three felony charges, including attempted murder. Two people were injured in those shootings in an incident that stemmed from an earlier altercation.
Holly turned himself in to the authorities and has since “been suspended indefinitely from all team activities,” according to an LSU spokesperson.
Treyvion Antwan Holly, 19, of Baton Rouge, is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, Illegal Use of Weapons (On Public Roadway), and Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property. Holly’s bond was set at $512,000. ~ Union Parish Sheriff’s Office
Background: On Friday, February 9, at approximately 12:30 a.m. deputies from the Union Parish Sheriff’s Office, and officers from the Farmerville Police Department responded to a reported shooting with multiple victims, at an apartment complex within the city limits of Farmerville.
Upon arrival, two victims were discovered suffering from gunshot wounds. Investigators from UPSO’s Criminal Investigations Division began an investigation, and three suspects were identified. As of this writing, all three suspects, including Holly, have been arrested for their roles in this incident.
In addition to Holly, the other two suspects were identified by the Sheriff’s Office as:
- Jordan Ramond Jones, 18, of Marion, is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons (On Public Roadway). Jones’ bond was set at $510,000.
- A male juvenile, 16, of Farmerville, is charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons (On Public Roadway), Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, and Illegal Possession of Handgun by a Juvenile. The juvenile’s bond was set at $522,000.
People shared the following statement issued by LSU:
“We are aware that a student-athlete has been arrested in relation to a shooting in Union Parish. This student-athlete has been suspended indefinitely from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies. Out of respect for the judicial process, we will have no further comment.”
