The preliminary investigation revealed the woman was invited into the restaurant by Eghbal, who is a Z-Burger employee. The restaurant was closed at the time he invited her inside. After the woman went inside, police report that Eghbal sexually assaulted her.

The victim was able to get away from her assailant. When she exited the restaurant, her friends, who had been using a cell phone location application to find her, saw her coming out of Z-Burger and dialed 911. Police quickly found Eghbal in the basement of the location, where he was arrested.

Eghbal was also served with a Failure to Appear in Court (FTA) warrant from 2017 for driving with a revoked out of state license. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson on a no bail status pending a bail review hearing.
