Man charged with murdering woman found shot in car off Exit-3 of the Jones Falls
On January 14, the Baltimore Police Department released word that earlier that same Sunday morning, at approximately 12:59 a.m., officers responded to Exit 3 of the Jones Fall Expressway (Interstate-83) in Baltimore City in order to investigate a call regarding a woman that had been shot.
Upon their arrival at that location, officers came across two individuals inside a vehicle. One of those individuals was a 30-year-old woman suffering from what police described as “a life-threatening gunshot wound.” The other individual inside the vehicle was a 27-year-old male, later identified as Christopher Lee, who was conscious and uninjured.
Medics transported the female victim to an area hospital where sadly, despite life-saving measures, she was pronounced dead.
According to the police, their preliminary investigation revealed that a verbal altercation had transpired between Lee and the woman, which led to her being shot. There was no explanation as to exactly what the relationship was between Lee and his victim. Detectives transported Lee to the downtown Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with 2nd degree murder and additional charges.
The investigation into this fatal shooting remains active, and anyone with any information regarding this deadly incident is urged to contact homicide detectives at (410) 396-2100 or leave a tip anonymously on the Metro Crime Stoppers tip line at 1-866-7LOCKUP. According to The Baltimore Banner, this latest shooting death at the I-83 exit was the fourth shooting and the second murder of the weekend.
