Last week, Ace News Today reported that the Broward Sheriff’s Office, headquartered in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, was seeking the public’s help in locating double-homicide suspect Andre Anglin, who was wanted in connection with the murders of his ex-wife and teenage daughter – who were both found shot to death in North Lauderdale on Wednesday, April 13.  Yesterday, the Sheriff’s Office announced that Anglin had been located, and that he was found dead inside the Circle K restroom located at 901 W. Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale.

According to officials, just before 3 p.m. on Monday, April 18, Anglin was spotted near the 900 block of West Sunrise Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. BSO VIPER (Violence Intervention Proactive Enforcement Response) units were conducting surveillance in the area when a subject matching Anglin’s description was observed walking northbound on East Sunrise Boulevard before entering the Circle K located at 901 W. Sunrise Boulevard.  Deputies responded to the business to investigate and learned that their wanted man had entered the restroom inside the Circle K.

When law enforcement attempted to make contact with the suspect, a single gunshot was heard. The deceased male was later positively identified as Andre Anglin. No one else was injured, and the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to assist.

On Wednesday, April 13, a warrant was issued for Anglin’s arrest after a woman and teenage girl were found shot to death shortly after 9 a.m. that morning near the 7900 block of Tam Oshanter Boulevard in North Lauderdale. Anglin had been identified as the suspect in both murders.  The two victims were later identified as Anglin’s ex-wife and the teenage daughter of Anglin and his ex.

Detectives say Anglin died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his body.  It will be the responsibility of the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office to ultimately determine the official cause and manner of death.

“I’m very proud of the excellent work conducted by our investigators and VIPER unit. They located and tracked down a menace to society. Unfortunately, this coward decided to take his own life rather than face justice for the heinous murders he committed,” Sheriff Gregory Tony said.
